Kid by Kid Children’s Charities

Dear Prospective Participant:

Hello and thank you for your interest in the Kid by KidSM Give 5-Ask 5SM Fundraising Campaign!

My name is Rachel Finkelstein. I am ten years old and in the 5th grade at a school in Scottsdale, Arizona. After participating in Mitvah Day (an annual event at our local Community Center, which is a city-wide forum dedicated to fundraising and creating all types of other ‘good deeds’), I was inspired to donate $125 of my savings to a wonderful kids charity called "Kids With A Cause, Inc."*  But, it was after the events that resulted from my donation that inspired me to do more ....

I thought it might be nice to donate the $250 contribution at the Hilary Duff concert in my hometown on Monday, November 17, 2003 (my mom was gracious enough to match my portion). It happened to be the first stop on her U.S. tour and she supports Kids With A Cause. All I had hoped for was, perhaps a wink, or a verbal thank you, and that could only happen if Hilary was able to even see the poster we created letting her know about the donation. But, I figured even if she never saw the poster, I would feel wonderful knowing I had helped other children in need.

To my utter amazement, Ms. Duff, this very important person in my life (and in the lives of nearly all of my friends), who didn’t even know me, thought I was important, too, and wanted to meet me! I was lucky enough to share a few special moments in her dressing room with her and her mom before the show. So, inspired was I for her to think that my donation was important, that I decided that I had to do more!

(So, here is my gift to you Hilary and to all the members of your children’s charity and to the countless children you help. Kid by Kid Children’s Charities has been created for the sole purpose of donating its proceeds to other children’s charities. And, for the 2004 Calendar Year, we have chosen Kids With A Cause, Inc. to be the recipient of our charity! Our goal is to raise at least $10,000.)

I hope by now you are excited as I am about making a difference in the lives of other children. If you would like to participate, please read the instructions and make sure to get your parents permission before you begin. Let’s see how fast we can reach our goal!

Thank You!
